ProbablyMonsters, a noted developer of video games, has confirmed $200 million in funding as part of its Series A round. The main investor was LKCM Headwater Investments which will help the company achieve long-term objectives. The company is based in Bellevue, Washington, and offers AAA gaming studios focusing on diverse genres and experiences for players. It is known for Cauldron Studios and is already working on an adventure game (single player) and Firewalk Studios, the multi-player-centric venture. This was inked as a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment for releasing its first game, along with a third game shown last year.

The funds will help in enhancing features for all three studios while boosting benefits packages for employees in turn. It will also open more opportunities for teams in the future along with newer IPs across genres. The company was founded in 2016, launching in 2019 courtesy of Harold Ryan, its CEO, who has a background in working as the Bungie CEO, studio head, and President, between 2000-2016. He says that there are three leading priorities for the company at the moment. The first one is to ensure better gaming opportunities and careers for the teams in the long haul, while making sure that they can retire handsomely from the firm. The second one is the expansion of the platform for game development, inclusive of community-wide offerings and live operations. It will contribute massively towards expanding the scope of all the company’s games and studios. He adds that service is a core part of the entire platform and games should be able to keep evolving with the needs of their user communities. The third priority is backing more hiring initiatives for developing future teams along with newer IPs as well. He adds that 50% growth has been achieved annually by the company while the employee strength should cross 300 people by year-end.
